 Regret to announce…. That Our First Annual “CUT FOR A CAUSE” -CHILDREN WITH HAIR LOSS Show JUNE 25th is Cancelled!!!During my 10 years  in Nashville I started planning a big return home town event that would showcase my friends and Nashville collogues while giving back to the communityI have since then -found/Confirmed/booked a local Jacksonville Illinois venue -reconfirmed and constructed for 2 years during and after covid pandemic with “said venue” that we are still good moving forward (and was told yes every time)- reconfigured/ booked/secured local and 8 Nashville acts- booked drivers-allotted gas money-booked vehicles-booked hotels- booked multiple local food vendors to bring and share their local businesses and food with the community- booked my hairstylist and travel from Nashville to cut my hair mid show and donate for Children With Hair Loss to be donated- Booked my personal Nashville band- and more minor show date details“The said” venue has helped me out ZERO PERCENT with all the above besides agreeing multiple times to let myself and other local businesses, artists, acts, to use venue on that date.As I proceeded further, local business owners asked me why “said venue” was not helping me out with some ventures because they have agreements with venue for all other shows they have regularly, and it didn’t make sense to them either.My response was “I don’t know, but I must proceed and succeed regardless for the show, community and children.”After successfully finishing all the above tasks by myself, I was contacted by the venue just a couple weeks before this event date and was told -"I can’t sell tickets because it doesn’t work in Jacksonville."(When I have already sold tickets)-was told I can’t do an all-day event because no one in Jacksonville would come out all day(The plan was to allow kids parents to have available lunches, activities, and dinners during the day while meeting all the artists and enjoying their entertainment and local food favorites as the crowd progressed towards a more adult late night concert crowd for the full band and DJ.)-was told they booked a different random band to start playing at the exact same time my band would start in main building the same day right across from my event. (this is absurd to me on all levels. I proceeded anyways.)-then was told they had provided sound for that band that day and sound all day the next day for their all-day shrimp boil event …. but they did not and couldn’t provide my show the sound required. (whaaaat?)-Then was told if I rescheduled to September 24th date that "Said venue" would help out finally and provide sound and more radio exposure... QUOTE-" I’ll get my people working on the announcement and run it by you before announcing.”A week later I was told, and I quote"...to look for a new venue" because and I quote…” I don’t have time for this, I have several excellent bands wanting a date out here.”I guess other bands and the development of their newfound music venue are more important that doing something for children with hair loss, a local singer songwriter, and the community of Jacksonville."Said venue" then texted and stated he did not want to make cancellation announcement before June 25th , it would get in the way of other shows / band they booked on that date and their event day. Even though I've had the date booked for 2 plus years... I’ve completely lost faith in the Community in which i have grown up in.I have a strict no tolerance policy when it comes to disrespect, mistreatment, and dishonesty when it comes to myself, my career, my friends, my collogues, especially when it has to deal with my hometown Jacksonville Illinois.I have spent a decade grinding and growing in Nashville Tennessee and spent so much time money and efforts to continually travel back to my hometown to share my progress.This event was supposed to be a show that a Jacksonville Illinois kid can make something of himself and come back to use those efforts to support and give back to his community.Also, it was to help the Children with Hair loss and Jacksonville Illinois community.I planned on continuing and growing this every year moving forward.It’s a sad day to have to announce and I apologize to you all that actions like this are still going on in the community we live in today.This post is meant to share knowledge of the event that ALREADY IS BEING RECONFIGURED for all those supporters of me and music in general and the city of Jacksonville.More details to come asap.
